Axio, on your machine

A study assistant that runs locally and works through your coursework in your own browser — showing you every step and stopping at the final click. It never submits, pays, or sends. That part is always yours.

Three quick steps and you're running: get the app, add the extension, connect your accounts.

Step 1 · Download the app

Includes the app + the Axiom Connect browser extension (see INSTALL.txt). Unzip, drag Axio to Applications, then right-click it → Open the first time (macOS shows an "unverified developer" notice for beta builds). Signed builds are coming.

Step 2 · Add the browser extension

Syncs Canvas, Outlook & OneDrive from your own logged-in tabs (no admin keys), and powers the supervised on-screen co-pilot. Works on its own — the desktop app is optional.

  1. 1Download and unzip — you'll get an axiom-connect folder.
  2. 2Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode (top-right).
  3. 3Click Load unpacked and select the axiom-connect folder.
  4. 4Back in Axiom, Connect → Canvas pairs it in one click.

Unpacked installs are how Chrome distributes extensions outside the Web Store — your data never leaves your browser, and you can remove it anytime from chrome://extensions. Full steps are in the INSTALL.txt inside the zip.

Step 3 · Connect your accounts

Open Axiom and go to Connect → Canvas. It pairs the extension and the app to your account in one click, then Axio starts syncing your Canvas, Outlook, Drive & Calendar from your own logged-in tabs. No keys, nothing leaves your browser. Within the first sync it can already tell you what's due, what you've turned in, and what to start.

What you'll need

  • macOS 12+ or Windows 10+ (or just the extension on a Chromebook)
  • An Axiom account (free) to connect your coursework — no signup to start
  • Chrome or Edge, for the Axiom Connect extension
  • Ollama with a local model — or the built-in model on capable machines
